reworking the way you read this

Since writing my own blog software is somthing that I can file under “been there/done that” I’ve decided that I want to do things a new way, just for fun. Today I started to write a little app that pulls my full blog off of myspace, parses it and delivers it through my personal site instead of relying on the bullshit truncated rss feed that myspace wants me to use. Why am I am doing this you ask? Because it’s stupid, and I like making work for myself. Besides, what’s a little regex amongst friends?

I mean, if you want to read this stuff here, then fine. but I don’t want you folks to feel like you have to come to this trite little networking site just to read my crap.

So between all the other things that I HAVE to do this week, finish development on my new ajaxy portfolio and site management tool, prepare javascript and actionscript codesamples for some folks in the city who are hiring, update my cv/resume (apparently it reads like shit, doesn’t actually tell you anything, AND doesn’t help my job search at all), and finish spackling and sanding the wall in my hallway, I’m now going to write some scrape and parse software for this shitty blog.

#update#

this evening i decided that though i may still write a myspace blog scrape script, i think it makes a little more sense for me to just move my blog over to my old free account with blogger. oh yeah, and podcasts are coming as soon as i have something interesting to say.

#update 2#
so ok… it was pretty shortsighted of me to decide to work with blogger, i figured, i have an account from a million years ago, it’s free, yadda yadda. that is all true, however, it just didn’t have the features that i was looking for. i wanted somthing that i could have complete control over, was free, and supported whatever i wanted to write for it. so for the third time in a week, i’ve switched again. and this time i’m committed for serious. welcome to my new wordpress blog.
